Description
This shrub is native to northeast Missouri, but will grow statewide. Flowers are white rounded clusters 3 to 5 inches across. Fruit is dark blue clusters of 3/8 to 1/2 inch long berries each containing one large seed. A wide variety of wildlife feed on the fruits, leaves and stems. Grows well in both sun or shade.
Height at maturity is 18 feet.
Uses
This species can be commonly used for erosion control. Edible fruits may be eaten off the bush when ripe or used in purees or in fruit leather. Wildlife benefits are food and cover. Get more information about Nannyberry
